We had the most relaxing time at Coopershill House, Co.Sligo. The house has been in the O’Hara family since 1774 and has a rich history. Simon O’Hara is the 7th generation to call it home. This 18th century historic country house offers luxurious rooms, fantastic food prepared by Simon's wife Christina, wonderful countryside views and a feeling of tranquility. Christina trained under Darina Allen at the Ballymaloe cookery school.

We enjoyed our walks around the house and deer farm. Afternoon tea with homemade cakes & biscuits was lovely. The house has only 7 bedrooms, no music or TV, just the sound of old clocks chiming around the house. You feel like you are staying with family not in a hotel. Dinner is a set menu of 4 courses and is served at 8 pm. You can choose time for breakfast and like the dinner, the food was very delicious. I ordered extra potato farls :) Christina's pinhead porridge was yummi. Coffee is very good. Homemade jam, bread, honey - all are superb
